Q: Is an audition needed to attend camp?
An audition is not needed to attend the UGA Summer Music Camp. High School students will audition upon arrival on Sunday afternoon for placement into the large ensembles. The audition requirements are listed in the camp information letter that are on our "Camp Info" web site.
Q: Are there auditions when I arrive to camp on Sunday afternoon?
There are auditions on Sunday afternoon for all high school students. This is done because we have multiple ensembles in both band and orchestra. All students who are in middle school will not need to audition. During rehearsals students will be placed by rehearsal assistants that are working with the middle school emsembles.
Q: Who is considered a Middle and High School student?
All students who will be entering 9th grade during the next school year are considered to be high school in the UGA Summer Music Camp. All students who are rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are considered middle school students.
Q: After I send my application when should I receive information back from the Summer Camp office?
After an application is received by the UGA Summer Music Camp we will process the application as soon as possible. It may take one to two weeks to process the application due to the numbers of applications we receive. As soon as the application is processed we will return information regarding the camp through either mail or email.
Q: Where is the total price of camp on your website?
All of the price information can be found on our webpage at the top on the tab that is called "Fees." Keep in mind, the $50 deposit is non-refundable and is part of the entire fee. Private lessons cost extra and you should add this amount to your total tuition before sending in the application.
